Forever Green Wedding Evening

Picture yourself walking up a tree lined drive. As you leave behind the urban jungle and go into this oasis of tranquillity, you begin to emerge yourself into a natrual enviroment of silver birch, awesome Oak trees and swaying pines. You soon come across Forever Green, located into the middle of this, surrounded by a patchwork of wild flowers with Scotts Pine trees towering above its huge glass windows. The urban spraul that lie close to the parks gates like Nottingham, Chesterfield and Newark are now but a faraway memory as you begin to relax in all of these peaceful surroundings.

As you enter Forever Green and are greeted with a glass of bubbly and home-made canapés, you enjoy the venue’s clean-lined, leaf-hued rooms. These flood with light as the bring-the-outside-in windows provide a towering natural vista with an informal feel from the recently redesigned and comfort-cooled interior.

Well-respected restaurateurs, Paul and Andrea are keen to give that unique touch to your wedding and even share in your pre-wedding butterflies on the morning of your wonderful day. Enjoy deliciously fresh food designed by the in-house team, sourced from their own orchards and allotment; free-range eggs come from down the road, the rest from local shire suppliers. Big greenie points abound: animal and bird rescue organisations release their charges into the thickets already populated with fox, deer and woodpecker.

You have just discovered Sherwood Forests best kept secret! – Forever Green - Weddings with Nature.

Wedding Receptions

Receptions were more often than not held at the bride's family house. Up until the close of World War 2 the variety of entertainment depended on the wealth of the bride's parents, who organised all sorts of events from grand evening hours balls to tea along with cake. As people grew wealthier and the quantity of guests invited grew beyond what the standard family home could manage, people used church halls, dance halls and hotel ballrooms, arranged restaurants or held garden parties. Today, the selection is vast, covering anything from castles to a marquee in the venue. Before making the final choice there's lots of factors to bear in mind. Check websites of venues near the area you intend to marry and visit for a wedding fayre or open day. BUDGET Your reception cost can be around 20 and 50% from your total wedding spend, subject to whether it's to be fully organized from the venue itself, or used for a starting point for the bride's own ideas. Perhaps it is possible to have a civil ceremony at the venue, or is the venue easy to reach from the church? Often the availability from your chosen venue will determine your wedding date and must be booked once you first decide it's right for your reception. GUESTS There may certainly be a minimum or maximum amount of guests allowed at a venue. Some guests could benefit from overnight accommodation, and often hotels will offer you a reduced rate for any guests who want to book a room ahead. CATERING Check whether the venue will supply a tasting menu of the food they provide. They should also have the capacity to help with vegetarian choices, or special diets. If they have grounds, will they offer a buffet or picnic out in the open to the guests. When necessary, see if you can actually alter the layout within the main reception room. Ask about facilities for musicians or whenever they have any restrictions on the kind of music used. If you're planning one venue for ceremony and reception, are the locations right for your group and couple portraits or will there be a park nearby? The wedding planner ought to offer advice on the top areas for photographers to operate, both inside and outside and offer advice on additional wedding professionals. BAR Discover if a bar can be provided, and if needed can they allow a night time extension. Do they allow drinks to be brought in, and in that case, do they charge corkage? Champagne and wine are the most typical drinks to have within the reception, and the venue will offer you advice on the perfect wines to compliment the meals and champagne for the toast, also non alcoholic drinks really should be available too. Bolsover Castle Wedding Photography

Bolsover Castle Couple Portraits

This fairytale 17th century castle at Bolsover is a spectacular location for your wedding. Commanding an incredible hilltop setting with views across the Vale of Scarsdale, Bolsover Castle gives you a choice of four rooms licensed for civil ceremonies. Two are situated inside the Little Castle, built by Sir Charles Cavendish in 1612. With its high walls, towers and turrets this picturebook building is similar to a medieval castle in miniature. A stone staircase leads to Bolsover Castle's stunning Jacobean interiors. At its heart lies the Star Chamber where couples can exchange their vows witnessed by up to 50 guests. With an elaborate carved fireplace, ornate wooden panelling and magnificent blue ceiling with stars gilded in gold leaf, it is an incredible setting, perfect for your wedding photography. The atmospheric Pillar Parlour, also within the Little Castle, can seat 30 guests. For bigger ceremonies, couples can choose either the original Stables or the Riding House which has a magnificent oak beam roof. Built by Sir Charles’s son William in 1630, the Riding House was once used by Sir William to train his horses in the art of menage, a kind of ballet for horses, where they elegantly circled, leapt and knelt. Able to have 200 guests for a ceremony, this large and unusual room looks incredible when styled for an evening dinner dance, when it can host 175 guests. The Outer Courtyard is able to hold a marquee for larger parties and is a wonderful location for your wedding group photography.

Wedding Photographers in Newstead Abbey

Newstead Abbey wedding photography

Originally the south transept of the Priory Church, the Orangery obtained its name from the Byron family, who bought the Newstead estate from Henry VIII in 1540, and turned the transept into a room for maturing citrus fruits. The present-day custodians of Newstead Abbey are Nottingham City Council, who are working hard to promote this fabulous estate and utilize the stunning house and grounds as a wedding venue. What better place to have your wedding than the former residence of a romantic poet? Newstead Abbey's Orangery is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, and can have capacity for up to 100 guests. The Orangery's ornate plaster ceiling, crystal chandelier and considerable windows with lovely garden views beyond help to make the Orangery a delightful venue for your civil wedding or partnership. As wedding photographers we advocate to the majority of our couples that we take you for your couple portrait photography in the gardens of Newstead abbey directly from your service whilst your guests are occupied with the reception drinks that can be held immediately after the ceremony in the Garden room - a quiet, cool and relaxing space that is ideal for your guests to assemble in. The decor of the Garden Room is a light cream, so your own colour scheme may be brought in to the room if required. Newstead abbey has a lot of areas for your couple session photography also with it’s open lawns joined by wide, well kept paths and the unexpected set of steps, which are wonderful for family group photography.
